OVER 25 YEARS-WRONGFULLY CONVICTED-PLEASE CONTINUE TO HELP FREE AN INNOCENT MAN!
A corrupt prosecutor, Joseph Paulus, transformed the sad death of a suicidal alcoholic/addict into media-driven murder and an arson case which turned the justice system upside down.
John Maloney, a respected veteran detective in Green Bay, Wisconsin, never thought he could become the target of the justice system in which he placed so much faith. When his estranged wife Sandy, was found dead in her fire-damaged home, John learned how swiftly he could be convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
Joseph Paulus manufactured "incriminating evidence" against John Maloney, depriving him of a fair trial. Paulus ordered $27,000 of key videotape editing and its transcript to make it appear that Maloney had confessed to killing his wife. In addition, Paulus laterserved a five-year federal prison sentence for taking bribes to fix cases between 1998 and 2000-the same timeframe he was serving as a special prosecutor on the case against John Maloney. Joseph Paulusaccepted over $48,000 to “fix” 22 different cases.
One of the last acts that Joseph Paulus did as district attorney was try to get John’s file out of the district attorney's office, according to Assistant District Attorney Mike Balskus. Balskus stated “he ordered someone to basically get rid of the file.”
Paulus shuffled his case file from office to office while he was being investigated and most of the original case file has disappeared.
The question: was a crime committed?
Over a dozen outside experts unequivocally say no. But, thanks to John's defense attorney, the jury never heard from outside experts. And thanks to John's defense attorney, who drafted his appeal, these issues were never included.
So, John was convicted by a prosecutor who later went to prison for bribery and fraud; by an incompetent attorney who never called one witness and failed John miserably, and via blatant perjury on the stand by someone he trusted who turned on him in order to clear her own legal issues.
John is my love of over nine years, a father of three sons, and a grandfather who deserves after 25 years to be released-please show the new Governor and decision makers he has support and more so people who unequivocally believe in his innocence.
