I'm happy the one in Jackson is open. That's one of the fanciest places in town. I don't get the one in Waterford closing. I thought Waterford was not poor. Too bad for Grand Rapids and the area. They are losing one of their finest places in town.

Not a fan, the last couple of times there, the food was really salty.
As for the one in Jackson, that town really loves its chain restaurants.

When Popeye's first opened in Jackson there lines of 50-60 cars for the drive thru.
Even at two minutes per car, that would be a two hour wait for a chicken sandwich.

Don’t kid yourself, they are all closing in the next few years, too bad that a hostile takeover can ruin the livelihoods of so many.

from CNN. A variety of factors contributed to them circling the drain:

Lots of good info., but what never occured to me was the following:
“In most of middle America, you couldn’t get decent seafood. Red Lobster brought it to the masses,” said Jonathan Maze, the editor in chief at Restaurant Business Magazine, a trade publication. “Red Lobster was part of this casual dining revolution.” Despite my snobbery toward RL the guy is right.

I remember seeing that and it was a knock down, drag out fight with my son telling him we weren’t stopping there after hockey practice.

I would say that the Thai seafood company finished it off. Would it have gone under without them? Probably.

The flour and spices comes in a box at any grocery store, you just add cheese and water. It’s a great party favor for the little effort required, and everybody seems to like them

Prom is fancy. We’re talking a sit down and order dinner if a kid wants to get some action later.
